All UCP partner partners elaborated a SWOT-analysis of the current situation of cultural and creative industries in their cities to get to know the strenghts, weaknesses but also opportunities and threats (SWOT) for the further development of CCI. Therefore the first tasks of the UCP working group meetings in Linköping in February and Berlin in May was to set up a common methodology for all project partners.

After this all partners started to work on their analysis and tried to involved as many CCI stakeholders as possible. Several stakeholder workshops were held in each city and interviews and questionnaires were carried out next to a detailed data analysis to get a deeper inside into the local situation.

In August 2011 25 CCI entrepreneurs, artists and students from all UCP cities came together to Cottbus (D) for a week-long summer school to discuss first results of the SWOT-analysis and to initiate networks and cooperation between the five cities. The summer school included a number of lectures by international experts and CCI entrepreneurs as well as several workshops focussing on international marketing, CCI funding or the establishment of CCI centres. The results of those work shops were presented to the members of the UCP working group as gave a valuable input for the further work of the UCP project. You can find some pictures from the Summer Academy in Cottbus here.

The UCP partners decided on their meeting one day after the conference to establish an international company data base at the UCP webpage to increase visibility of CCI entrepreneurs from the UCP city. Additionally further joint transnational actions were discussed which will be implemented in 2011 and 2012.
